Dear Neighbor,
My Dad always said that sooner or later, people always reveal who they are.
He was right, of course. The challenge is the time you spend waiting for other people to see. But if you focus on healing and building a life you love, days become years and it just doesn’t matter anymore.
Until someone randomly reaches out to say they now see, and they just wanted you to know that they see. And when that happens you find yourself detached and unsurprised, like you’re watching a TV show where the ending was so predictable.
For you, I dug out old notes from another time….
Things to research:
- histrionic personality disorder
- limerance
- nominal Christian
- behavioral mimicry
You will not get the truth from a cluster B. You will get a story where they are the victim or hero.
They did not betray you – they exposed their true nature. You were never friends.
You don’t need revenge. You only need a plan to protect your babies.
Classic Isaiah 48:22 says “There is no peace for the wicked,” says the Lord. A new-fangled version says “Until they confess all the lies they said against you to gain favor, they’ll never know peace.”
God exposes fake so he can elevate faithful.
Lies have short legs.
Karma. It lets you believe you’ve escaped the weight of your choices, and then takes back what was never earned.
Revelations may feel like they’ll break you, but they actually free you.
Thank you. For the laugh about soulmates and the moment of clarity about how far my girls and I have come. The me who wrote those notes wondered what the future would bring. The me of today can tell you with certainty you will not regret being ruthless when it comes to your child. I will be praying for you. Godspeed.
B
